Red Young (piano, organ, vocals, arranger, bandleader, artist), has been a musician his entire life and has been on Sandy Beaches Cruises since 2002. In his long career he has performed, recorded and toured for many artists including Sonny & Cher, Lloyd Price, Freddy Fender, Joan Armatrading, Eric Burdon, Linda Ronstadt, Marcia Ball, Ray Benson, Stephen Bruton, Teresa James,Big Joe Maher, Delbert McClinton and his own bands, Red and the Red Hots, Black Red Black, Red Young & His Hot Horns, and his own Trios, Quartets and has toured the world with many of them. And over the years he has recorded, written and arranged music for TV Shows, Movies and Toured extensively from 1967.

On the Sandy Beaches Cruise, Red does a daily 5pm show and dance in the Crows Nest (Observation Lounge on the 11th floor forward) with his 5 horn Hot Horns (featuring drummer extraordinaire Brannen Temple and Horns from many bands on the ship), or he may do a smaller Organ group or Western Swing band as the mood strikes him.

You can also find him leading his Piano Trio at 12:30am in the 3rd floor Ocean Bar with many friends on the boat sitting in as well. And you never know who will show up to sing, play or jam – after all, it’s a ship full of musicians and friends!

And for sure he will be involved in the Pianorama or Saxorama or may sit in with Carolyn Wonderland, Teresa James or other friends and musicians. Mike Robertson of StarVista LIVE asked Wendy what Red does on the cruise and she replied “Whatever he Wants” which I think covers it precisely.
