Mia Borders is a renowned singer-songwriter who has captivated audiences with her soulful voice, electrifying performances, and diverse musical style. Born and raised in the vibrant city of New Orleans, Borders’ musical journey began in her childhood home, where she was exposed to a rich tapestry of sounds that permeated the City’s cultural landscape. Soul, funk, rock, and blues became the foundation upon which she built her own unique style.

Heralded locally and nationally as one of the city’s best talents, Borders has been featured on AXS.tv’s coverage of The New Orleans Jazz & Heritage Festival, and has performed at such renowned venues as Essence Festival, Brazil’s Bourbon Street Music Festival, House of Blues New Orleans, Tipitina’s, Santa Cruz Blues Fest, Chattanooga’s Night Fall, Voice of the Wetlands, Memphis’ Levitt Shell, Wakarusa, Long’s Park Amphitheater, 2012 Food & Wine Classic, and The Kennedy Center for Performing Arts. She has shared bills with B.B. King, Corinne Bailey Rae, Lee Fields, and George Porter Jr, among others.

Her expansive collection of commercial releases showcases Borders’ powerful vocals, thoughtful songwriting, and dynamic presence. Her catalogue includes three EPs, seven LPs, five singles, and assorted live albums – all released under her own record label, Blaxican Records.

Beyond her musical accomplishments, Borders is deeply rooted in her New Orleans community, using her platform to uplift and support various charitable causes. Off stage and outside of the studio, Borders runs The Borders Foundation, a 501c3 founded to support artists from marginalized communities. She also runs Third Coast Entertainment, a booking agency and event production company aimed at elevating women, LGBTQ+, and BIPOC artists.
