Day 1 – Depart USA
Depart on your International overnight flight to Africa.
Day 2 – Arrive in Johannesburg, South Africa
Your guide will greet you at the airport and escort you to your hotel for dinner and overnight.
Day 3 – Soweto Township Tour
A Soweto Day Tour takes in the highlights of this iconic township including Nelson Mandela’s former home and the Hector Pieterson museum.You will get close to Soweto Culture, meet the people, and try local foods.
Day 4 – Church Service in Township, Apartheid Museum
This morning, experience the unique worship experience that happens in the township. This afternoon visit the Apartheid Museum, the pre-eminent display in the world dealing with 20th century South Africa, at the heart of which is the apartheid story.
Day 5 – Kruger National Park, Game Drive
Spend the day in the world renowned Kruger National Park. Enjoy an evening game drive and look out for Africa’s big five: Lion, Buffalo, Elephant, Rhino and Leopard.
Day 6 – Kruger National Park, Moholoholo Rehabilitation Center
After a morning game drive enjoy a leisurely day at your safari lodge. You may visit the Moholoholo Rehab Center, the home for many of South Africa’s abandoned, injured and poisoned wildlife and a highly regarded contributor to wildlife education.
Day 7 – Kruger to Capetown
Fly from Kruger to Capetown. Time permitting take a panoramic tour of the city.
Day 8 – School visit, Castle of Good Hope, Table Mountain, Talk with Christo
This morning visit a school in the township where you can deliver school supplies to the underpriveledged. The Castle of Good Hope is the oldest surviving building in South Africa and a maritime replenishment station at the Cape of Good Hope in the 1600’s. Visit Table Mountain, the most iconic landmark in South Africa. This evening, attend a talk hosted by Christo Brand, a close friend of Nelson Mandela’s and a prison warden on Robben Island during Mandela’s imprisonment.
Day 9 – Robben Island, Slave Lodge
Visit Robben Island, the notorious prison located on an island seven kilometers off the coast of Cape Town in Table Bay. It is where Africa’s political prisoners were kept during the colonial and Apartheid years of South Africa. After lunch, travel to the Cape Colony, built on the backs of slaves and the Slave Lodge was where Dutch East India Company used to lock up the slaves who worked in the Company Gardens. Today it is a national monument and a museum documenting the history of slavery in South Africa.
Day 10 & 11 – Depart Africa and Arrive in USA or enjoy a Victoria Falls Extension
