The Curt Towne Band formed on the westside of Jacksonville, FL. in January of 2013 and has been dedicated to writing and performing original music since the beginning. Soon after the band formed, they recorded an EP at Martell Studios, which included “Whatcha Gonna Do”, a fierce, foot stomping hard driving anthem that lets you know Southern Rock is still alive and well!
Their first full CD was released soon after, and along with “Whatcha Gonna Do”, the album included fan favorites “All or Nothin’”, “Train (of Life)”, and “Breakin’ Hearts Again”.
The Curt Towne Band has made friends, and fans from around the world by performing their “All Original – Old School” brand of Southern Rock. With Curt Towne on lead guitar, Barry Rapp (Henry Paul Band) on lead vocals, and keys, Greg “GT” Thompson on bass guitar, and Mike Cansler returning to the throne behind the drums. They continue to be a rising star in the new era of Southern Rock, while embracing the traditions of those great bands who blazed the trail before them
Curt and the band have been privileged with performing with and supporting the likes of Lynyrd Skynyrd, Molly Hatchet, Blackberry Smoke, Van Zant, Montgomery Gentry, The Outlaws, Don Felder of the Eagles, Atlanta Rhythm Section, and Black Stone Cherry just to name a few.
The Curt Towne Band was honored to be a part of the inaugural Southern Rock Cruise in 2018 and is looking forward to making new friends on 2019 Southern Rock Cruise.
As Curt says, “Always keep it genuine – always keep it real”!
