Dale Inman
Behind every legendary driver, there usually is a legendary mechanic. That’s what Inman was to Richard Petty as the longtime crew chief for “The King.” Inman is credited with revolutionizing the crew chief position, and he earned a place in the NASCAR Hall of Fame for it. During a nearly three-decade career, Inman set records for most wins (193) and championships (eight) by a crew chief. Inman won seven NASCAR premier series championships with Petty from 1964-79 and another one in 1984 with Terry Labonte.
